Outline of e-survey training provision and your obligations

The intent of the training is to help surveyors who are new to e-survey become familiar with electronic survey data concepts and to gain confidence in the core functions of the application. It is also intended that firms begin to lodge e-surveys in the period immediately following the training.

Typically the training period covers two days, incorporating two training sessions of approximately three hours each. There will be time in between the two sessions for you to work through some concepts before moving on to the second session.

Your Obligations

To receive this offer of training you will undertake to reach a level of readiness that includes:
  • Having the LINZ recommended computer technology set-up, view specifications here


  • Purchase of the e-survey licence/s and user Digital Certificate/s.


  • Work through the Computer based training (CBT) CD ROM modules to familiarise yourself with e-survey (this training CD ROM arrives with your welcome pack after you sign up for e-survey)


  • Have a suitable simple survey ready to be trained on (details will be provided by the schedule co-ordinator on this requirement)


  • Undertaking to commence lodging e-surveys on completion of the training
